The DeSoto Parish School Board has received the following awards for its Annual Operating Budget:

• Meritorious Budget Award – received from the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) for each year beginning with fiscal year 1996-97.

• Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Governmental Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for each year beginning with fiscal year 1994-95.

These awards represent a significant achievement. They also reflect the commitment of the Board and staff to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting. These awards are valid for a period of one year only. We believe our current budget continues to conform to program requirements, and we are submitting it to the ASBO and GFOA to determine its eligibility for another award.
