Thinking Maps Overview Sept. 9, 2010 Pre-K - 12th grade Thinking Maps are tools used to develop thinking skills.  They are cross curricula and beneficial for advanced thinkers, struggling learners and everyone in between.  These are powerful tools to be used in and out of the classroom. 
Kurzweil Training Sept. 21, 2010 @ 8:00 AM Select Sped teachers, paraprofessionals, & select 4th - 12th            
  • Access to Any Curriculum- The software can access virtually any information, whether it is printed, electronic, or on the Web.
  • Increased Reading Fluency- Improve reading speed and comprehension, and also make it possible for students to learn and study independently.
  • Study Skills- With the aid of visual and auditory feedback, the software helps students keep up with assigned reading, learn critical study skills and successfully complete writing projects and tests.  
ED Options as a classroom resource Sept. 22, 2010 Middle School and High School core content area teachers Ed Options is a resource that teachers may access for assistance in classroom instruction as well as use as a tool when a substitute must introduce a concept.  It is easy to use with a SmartBoard to introduce concepts to a whole group.
Compass Learning Sept. 23, 2010 Grades K-5 Science & Social Studies teachers Easy & Powerful:  Learn how to use Compass Learning in the classroom to impact student achievement.  Participants will set-up classes, develop assignments/pre-tests correlated to GLEs, and analyze student reports to monitor progress.  
Teacher Made materials for PreK and Kindergarten Sept. 23, 2010 PreK and Kindergarten teachers There will be a variety of materials presented that can be made to be used in centers throughout the classroom.  They are quick and easy and very beneficial for our young learners.
Modeling of Brain Friendly Strategies Sept. 28, 2010 Any grade level or content area Watch professional development activiites to learn more about how the brain actually learns.  Learn which instructionl strategies are brain-friendly and which are not to impact student learning.
ELL Modifications for Math & Science Instruction Sept. 30, 2010 Elementary & Middle School Math and/or Science Teachers Learn ways to implement English Language Learners modification in math or science classrooms to improve student achievement.
Modeling of Structures for Cooperative Learning -Part I Oct. 5, 2010 Any grade level or content area. (Participants are encouraged by not required to attend Part II) Watch and learn management tips, how to form effective teams, strategies for creating a cooperative class through team building and class building, and why cooperative learning produces gains and group work often fails. 
Microsoft Excel in the classroom Oct. 20, 2010 Anyone who wishes to learn more about Excel as a tool. Anyone who wishes to learn more about Excel as a tool for displaying information as well as reporting.  (progress monitoring or other data sharing)

PK-8 Join us of a different "spin" on the GLE's.  Teachers will receive lesson plans and materials to implement Ag in the Classoom. 
Transitions, routines and procedures Nov. 2, 2010 PreK and Kindergarten We will look at transitions, routines, and procedures and see how they can make your room run smoothly with less stress and fewer behavior problems.  We'll find many tips and tricks that can be used in our rooms that are developmentally appropriate.

Any grade level or content level      Level 1 was intended to be a full day inservice.  It has been broken down into afternoon sessions to allow for teachers to participate.   Teachers can sign up for Mondays or Wednesdays.   However, the sessions must be taken in order A, B, C, D.
