Superintendent Message 10.15.18
Posted 10/15/18

It is hard to believe the first quarter of the 2018-19 school year is already completed. The first quarter is always a busy time as staff and students are learning about each other, routines and expectations are being established, and school activities are in full swing. I hope that you had an opportunity to participate in a conference with your child and their teacher during our Student/Parent/Teacher Conferences. I continue to be amazed by the progress of students from the beginning of school until now.

Moving forward, staff and students will continue to work toward making substantial academic gains before the end of the school year.  I enjoy visiting classrooms, observing the challenging, innovative and engaging lessons our teachers are offering their students.  It is rewarding to see students have “ah-ha” moments as they master a new concept or skill. It is exciting to see our students continue to grow academically and socially as the year moves forward.

Thanks to all of you for the role you play in making DeSoto Parish Schools a system of excellence.

For Students’ Sake,

Clay J. Corley
