Who we are:

We are a collaborative group of educators dedicated to building strong readers here at Mansfield Elementary School. Members of the MES Literacy Team include our ELA master teacher, our administration, our literacy strategist and literacy paraprofessionals, and a reading teacher from each grade level.

What we do:

The MES Literacy Team supports the students, teachers, and families of Mansfield Elementary School. We support students daily in small group settings focusing on targeted reading interventions to strengthen early literacy skills. We support teachers with literacy resources to support small group instruction. We provide and track data from benchmark assessments and biweekly progress monitoring. We meet monthly to examine student data, discuss progress monitoring outcomes, and collaboratively plan next steps based on data. To support families, our team acts as a bridge, hosting literacy events, DIBELS & Donuts (twice a year), providing practical resources empowering parents to reinforce literacy skills at home.
