DeSoto Parish Schools proudly dedicated its Facilities and Operations Building in honor of the late Heith Parker, former Director of Facilities and Operations, on May 8, 2026, whose decades of service and tireless commitment left a lasting impact on the district, its students, staff, and community.
The building dedication serves as a tribute to a leader whose legacy of high standards, compassion, and service continues to shape DeSoto Parish Schools.
Mr. Parker devoted twenty six years to DeSoto Parish Schools, serving in numerous roles throughout his distinguished career. He began his journey with the district during the 1998-1999 school year as an Adult Education teacher and coach at North DeSoto High School, contributing to both the football and baseball programs. His passion for education and mentorship quickly became evident as he later transitioned to teaching Physical Education at North DeSoto Elementary and Middle School while continuing to coach and positively influence students both inside and outside the classroom.
Over the last decade of his career, he played an instrumental role in overseeing the growth, safety, and operational standards for the district. From campus improvements and construction projects to ensuring safe and efficient learning environments for students and staff, his leadership touched every corner of the district. Mr. Parker’s vision contributed to the growth and evolution of what our district facilities have become today.
“This dedication honors a man who truly understood the mission of Making a Difference. Heith Parker invested his heart and soul into this district, leaving a powerful legacy of service and commitment that will forever inspire the DeSoto Parish Schools family for years to come,” said Superintendent Clay Corley
The Heith Parker Facilities and Operations Building stands as a permanent reminder of Mr. Parker’s lasting influence and the values he embodied throughout his life and career.
DeSoto Parish Schools remains deeply grateful for his extraordinary service and is honored to celebrate a legacy that will continue to inspire our mission for years to come.
