Homecoming Week 2020-21
April 12th – 16th, 2021
Due to Covid, we were unable to celebrate Homecoming in the fall, as is tradition; however, we don’t want the year to pass us by without celebrating our school and its history altogether. Although it might look a little different this year, we want our students to be given the opportunity to have a little fun, to show their Panther spirit, and to make life-long memories with their classmates and friends. Be on the lookout for posts on SHS social media sites, the school website, and possibly DOJO regarding the Homecoming Queen Coronation Ceremony that will be held on Friday, April 16th.
THE WEEK OF APRIL 12th-16th, STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO SHOW THEIR PANTHER PRIDE BY PARTICIPATING IN THE FOLLOWING DRESS-UP DAYS:
You’ve heard the sayings: “Wear Your Sunday Best,” “Dressed to the Nines,” “Looking Like a Million Bucks.” On Monday, come to school DRESSED to IMPRESS!
On Tuesday, roll out of bed, throw on some mis-matched clothes (the more clashing patterns the better), skip brushing your hair (but not your teeth), and head to school!
On Wednesday, think jungle. For those of you really feeling WILD, come dressed as a jungle animal, a safari guide, or a hunter. Animal print/Camo is also an option.
On Thursday, let’s go back in time! Pick a decade and wear a throw-back outfit that represents that time.
Friday- Spirit Day to the EXTREME!!!!!!!
Students will wear a SHS spirit tee or blue/white tee and jeans. Anything Blue, White, or Black that they can add to their spirit wear (hats, hair, makeup, jewelry, etc) is ENCOURAGED!!!!!!
***STUDENTS WHO CHOOSE NOT TO PARTICIPATE IN DRESS-UP DAYS WILL WEAR SCHOOL UNIFORM.***
When putting together your costumes, make sure that you abide by other dress guidelines--no skirts shorter than 2” above knee, no tank top/spaghetti strap tops, no pajamas, etc). If in doubt, DON’T wear it!
