Effective, September 17, 2026, DeSoto Parish Schools will implement a clear bag procedure at district athletic and extracurricular events. This procedure supports a safe, welcoming environment for students, families, staff, and visitors while helping school personnel and law enforcement partners conduct efficient entry screenings.

Please review the following guidelines before attending an event.

Approved Bags

• One clear bag no larger than 12" x 6" x 12". A clear, one-gallon freezer bag is also an acceptable option.

• A small clutch or purse no larger than 4.5" x 6.5".

• Diaper bags and medically necessary bags, which are permitted and will be checked upon entry.

Prohibited Bags

The following bags will not be permitted through the gate, except for the approved diaper and medically necessary bags described above:

• Backpacks and drawstring bags

• Duffel bags

• Large purses and non-clear purses exceeding the small clutch size limit

• Non-clear totes and mesh bags

• Fanny packs and camera bags

What to Expect at Entry

All bags and carried items are subject to search. Bags that do not meet these guidelines must be returned to your vehicle before entry.

Please plan ahead, bring only necessary items, and allow extra time for screening. Review the clear bag graphic below for a visual guide to approved and prohibited bags.
