Mansfield High School is proud to provide a variety of academic opportunities that allow our students to earn college credit while still in high school. MHS students are afforded advanced academic opportunities while also building pathways that celebrate our community’s unique strengths, culture, and achievements.

Our English department offers Advanced Placement courses, including English III (AP English Language and Composition), English IV (AP English Literature and Composition), and Biology II. Students who perform well on their AP exams can earn college credit, and last year, the English III AP course doubled its passing rate to 48% compared to the previous year.

MHS also offers dual enrollment opportunities in partnership with Northwestern State University, thanks to one of our highly qualified faculty members, Mrs. Angela Kimbrough, who is certified to teach college-level courses. Eligible students can earn college credit in courses such as English 1010, beginning their college transcripts while still in high school.

In addition, Mansfield High provides dual enrollment options through BPCC, Project Lead the Way courses with college credit potential, and serves as a CLEP testing center. Our active Upward Bound program also allows students to take college courses at SUSLA, further supporting their academic growth and future success.

At MHS, we celebrate the achievements of our students while making sure their stories are told by us, for us. We are proud that our students have access to the same rigorous academic opportunities as others in the district, and we remain committed to supporting them as they excel in college-level courses, career pathways, and beyond.
