Our November Mansfield High School Teacher Spotlight goes to our new ACT Coach. Ms. Jessica Thompson. Ms. Thompson was nominated by Jakeylan Foote. Jakeylan states, “I'd like to recommend Ms. Thompson for the November Teacher Spotlight. I want to nominate Ms. Thompson since she is a dedicated ACT teacher. She ensures that we are preparing for the ACT. She takes the time to ensure that we understand the problem and that we explain how we arrived at our solution. She is extremely dedicated because despite having a full schedule during homecoming week, she ensured that her ACT students performed well. This is why I'd like to nominate Ms. Thompson for the November Teacher Spotlight.” Abreunna Thomas also voted nominated Ms. Thompson. She states, “I would like to vote Ms.Jessica Thompson because she does her best everyday to make sure that we are prepared for the ACT and helps us find ways that will help us while we are testing.” Quintessa Thomas was the third nomination for Ms. Thompson. She is a very nice, caring, and an honest person who cares for her students. If you are confused or ever question anything in class, she helps her students even outside of class. Not only is Ms.Thompson a good teacher, but she also prepares us for our life after high school. Some of me and my classmates want to go to college and with her as my teacher I am positive that my ACT score will improve with such a spectacular teacher. Thank you Mrs. Ross for reading this message, and I want to say thank you too, Ms. Thompson, for coming to school daily awaiting to teach us. At this time, there is an administrator in Ms. Thompson’s class where Jakeylan, Abreunna, and Quintessa are presenting her with some of her favorite things. Congratulations, Ms. Thompson! October 27, 2021 The statewide mask mandate has been lifted by Governor Edwards, and we will follow our original operational guidelines which allow mask coverings optional for students and staff. Although masks are optional on school campuses, masks must still be worn on school buses due to the federal transportation mandate. Our district will follow quarantine protocols set forth by the Louisiana Department of Health. If a person is considered in close contact, they must be quarantined to limit the spread of COVID unless fully vaccinated and asymptomatic. We are encouraged by the decline of positive cases in our district. As always, we will continue to monitor the trends of positive cases in our schools and communities and will make adjustments to our mitigation measures if the need should arise.

Our October Mansfield High School Teacher Spotlight goes to Ms. Morgan Moore. Ms. Moore was nominated by Bryanna Jenkins and Mrs. Parker. Bryanna states, “I choose Ms. Moore because I feel as if she works hard to make sure all her students are up to date and on track with their work. She actually cares and is not quick to try and fail you. Advanced math can get a little hard sometimes. If you don’t understand, she's going to work with you and help you understand it and bring your grade up instead of just giving you an F. Also, her demeanor and the way she carries herself as a teacher is amazing. Her attitude, the way she reacts and responds to her students, she makes everyone around her have a better day. I speak for the class when I say this...even if she has a bad day she never shows it. She puts all that behind to ensure that we have a great school day and we actually learn. Last but not least, she's a great cheer coach, and I feel as if she doesn't get enough credit for that. Without her, there will be no cheers for the pep rally and no cheerleaders. I think we should give new teachers a chance at winning spotlight because everyone works hard for the things they do here. I know being a teacher and being able to deal with kids is not easy. I am thankful for all my teachers, but I think Ms. Moore really should have a chance at winning because all of her classes love her, not only because she has fun when helping us in class but we actually learn and have fun when learning. Mrs. Parker said regarding Ms. Moore, “She gives of herself for the benefit of the students, and school. She is always trying to find ways to engage the students. She works to make sure that the students know that she has their best interests in mind and truly cares about them. She is always considerate of others. She is also a blessing to her mother. At this time, there is an administrator in Ms. Moore’s class where Mrs. Parker and Bryanna are presenting her with some of her favorite things. Congratulations, Ms. Moore! We all love you very much and are blessed that you made the choice to return to Mansfield High School.
