Call me MiSTER and the Diamond Doves dressed in Red for the Great Kindness Challenge. The Diamond Doves presented Valentine's gifts to the Foster Grandparents.


James McCune Smith was the first African American person to earn a medical degree. He also started the nation's first pharmacy under Black ownership, and was the first African American to have their work published in a peer-reviewed medical journal.


The class of 2027 had 33 students eligible for the February Ice Cream Party. They had to read 100,000 words to qualify. If they attended the party before Christmas the goal is to read 100,000 more. Readers are Achievers.


After graduating from Oberlin College in 1850 with a literary degree, Lucy Stanton became the first Black woman in America to earn a four-year college degree.

The Great Kindness Challenge!


This school year, Kaison is our first student to become a Millionaire at MMS. She has read 1, 014, 625 words. She has read a total of 37 books with points worth 4 or more. She found out in 6th grade that she liked to read and has made it a goal to read a million words ever since. Reading has led her to change from an average student to achieving higher scores on the LEAP test, as well as taking high school courses in 8th grade. MMS students Read! Congratulations!

Mansfield Middle School Faculty and Staff believe that Attendance Matters. In January, 32 members of the School faculty and staff had Perfect Attendance. #AttendanceMatters



In 1960, Wilma Rudolph, of Clarksville, TN, won with the new Olympic record time of 11.3 seconds in Rome with the new record time of 11.3 seconds in in the women’s 100-meter dash in Rome, 1960.


Ms. Vance and her 2-4th hour students participated in Read Bowl, a global reading competition where PK-8 aged teams around the globe compete to read for the most minutes. The students placed 13 in the Middle School Conference making the Top 25 Teams participating. Also the students place 2nd in the State. Readers are Achievers.
