"Every great dream begins with a dreamer."
MMS celebrates Harriet Tubman Day. Harriet Tubman is best known for her efforts during the Underground Railroad; however, she also played an important role in working with Union soldiers and freeing Southern slaves during the Civil War.

REMINDER! Last Student/Parent/Teacher Conference of the 2021-22 School Year are tomorrow and Friday. Make plans to attend.

Remember Student/Parent/Teacher Conference will be held on Thursday and Friday.

When was the last time you UNPLUGGED? National Day of Unplugging is a day to disconnect and reconnect with family and friends. Turn off your phone, tablet, laptops, TVs, and any other electronic device for the day. Have an uninterrupted conversation, have dinner with friends, go for a hike, have a picnic. UNPLUG!

Student/Parent/Teacher Conference are coming up! This will be the last conference days for this school year. Plan to meet with your child's teachers.

Today we celebrate Presidents' Day!
Originally a day to celebrate George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, it is now meant to honor all U.S. Presidents, past and present.

MMS honors those who have served and are currently serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. We appreciate your service to our country and our families.

Don't forget that Daylight Savings Time ENDS today! Set your clock BACK one hour before bedtime tonight.

October 27, 2021 The statewide mask mandate has been lifted by Governor Edwards, and we will follow our original operational guidelines which allow mask coverings optional for students and staff. Although masks are optional on school campuses, masks must still be worn on school buses due to the federal transportation mandate. Our district will follow quarantine protocols set forth by the Louisiana Department of Health. If a person is considered in close contact, they must be quarantined to limit the spread of COVID unless fully vaccinated and asymptomatic. We are encouraged by the decline of positive cases in our district. As always, we will continue to monitor the trends of positive cases in our schools and communities and will make adjustments to our mitigation measures if the need should arise.
As a result of the statewide mask mandate being lifted by Governor Edwards, DeSoto Parish Schools will return to our original operational guidelines which make the wearing of face coverings optional for all students and staff while indoors. This change will take effect beginning Wednesday, October 27, 2021. The district will continue to follow all quarantine protocols as established by the Louisiana Department of Health.
Wishing all a happy, safe, and restful Fall Break! Schools will be closed Monday, October 4 to Friday, October 8. School will resume on Monday, October 11th.

Happy First Day of FALL!

Put this on your calendar now!

Never forget.

Happy Labor Day from MMS! Wishing you a relaxing day!
Labor Day is a tribute to American workers and their social and economic contribution to society. It recognizes and shows respect for organized labor and the individual rights of workers.

Reminder! Schools will be closed Monday, September 6th in observance of Labor Day.
