Five NDHS JROTC cadets attended LeaderState leadership camp at Mississippi State University. The camp is sponsored by the U. S. Army and provides leadership training, but primarily focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education.
Our reigning National Champion NDHS Cheerleaders return from NCA Camp with many awards! They are Cheer Champions, Band Chant Champions, have 5 All-Americans, 6 NCA Staff audition invitations, and the NCA Top All-American (highest scoring All-American of all campers, spanning from 21 teams). Congrats girls, we cannot wait to see what you do in football, basketball, and competition season!

Five JROTC cadets are attending the National Flight Academy in Pensacola, FL. Experience one of the most exciting and immersive learning adventures in the world aboard the world’s largest simulated aircraft carrier; that inspires interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
Note this is a week of no electronics, including cell phones.
NDHS is at the Louisiana Teacher Leader Summit! The Teacher Leader Summit is an annual professional learning conference that brings together Louisiana birth to grade 12 educators and content experts. Educators participating in the event will share their knowledge, learn new skills, and prepare for the 2024-2025 school year. This year’s Teacher Leader Summit will focus on our ability to lead the next level of our Vision for Success. #NDHS4L
On this Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the courageous men and women of the United States Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation's freedom. Their bravery and dedication will never be forgotten.
Wyatt Adair was awarded a $1000 Scholastic Grant by the DeSoto Arts Council. Wyatt is a 2024 graduate. He is a long time Talented Art student and also completed our Adobe certificate program.
He plans to put the grant towards his college expenses as he pursues a degree in marketing and graphic design at LSUS in Baton Rouge.

To the Class of 2024 and in keeping with the “You’ve been Ducked” tradition - "Life is an Adventure, Enjoy the Ride.” We are proud of you, love each of you and wish you all the luck in the world.
