The DeSoto Parish School Board is dedicated to being a good steward of taxpayer dollars and are committed to using our resources to provide excellent educational opportunities for our students.
The cost to the taxpayer depends on the value of your home. For example, a $300,000 home in District No. 2 (North DeSoto) with a homestead exemption of $75,000 would have an adjusted taxable value of $225,000 which would be assessed at 10%. The increase from a millage of 3.6 to 22 would result in an annual increase of $414 per year or $34.50 per month.

The April 2024 proposal is significantly reduced in costs at $85.2 million with a millage rate of 22. The plan proposes the construction of a new high school and upgrades to the lower elementary which would be combined with reconfiguring grade levels across current facilities.

Excited to recognize our teachers tonight as being the #DesotoDifference. We are blessed to have such wonderful educators in our building and we appreciate what they do daily.

It was a GREAT day as we welcomed students and parents in the building throughout the day and into the evening to discuss scheduling opportunities with students and teachers. School year 24-25 will be here before we know it.

Counselors are super excited to kick off scheduling week. Please join us tonight at the Academic Expo!!!

In December 2023, more than 600 community members participated in a survey to gather more information about the election results and priorities for a solution. Respondents overwhelmingly felt that the 2023 bond was too expensive for taxpayers and that they wanted to see a solution that was less than $100 million with more details available.

NDHS Track would like to give a special thank you to the North DeSoto Middle School Track Coaches, Zach Harper and Hannah Kempf. They do an outstanding job with preparing the young athletes to run in high school, but also help us at home meets. The practice schedule and drills they do are very similar to the same as the high school team, so those kids understand the culture of track when they join the high school team. Coach Harper and Coach Kempf are #TheDeSotoDifference.

Reminders for the Week of 3-11

Save the date! Our Academic Expo is coming up!

Schools in the North DeSoto area continue to face the challenge of accommodating the community’s rapidly growing population.
North DeSoto High School gives students chances to grow, learn, and thrive through AP and dual enrollment options, and strong participation in athletics and extracurricular activities. Current spaces are creating limits to the ability to offer classes in important areas like career and technical education with less students being able to experience these hands-on learning activities than would like to.

Two more students certified in Adobe Photoshop! #NDHS4L

Mrs Phillips, Mrs. Terry and Ms. Lipsey met with juniors to discuss the importance of ACT and ACT WorkKeys in preparation of next week's testing. #NDHS4L

In a survey that saw input from more than 600 residents of District 2, 78% of respondents either agreed or strongly agreed that the DeSoto Parish School Board needs to do something about the growth in the North DeSoto area
