NDMS's Garrison, was awarded the NW District 4-H Reserve Champion Performance Division with 1st place in Western Horsemanship, Western Pleasure, and Stock Horse Pleasure classes. Garrison was on his family's horse, Moon. He was proud to represent DeSoto Parish at the District Show, and will compete at the Louisiana State Horse Show later this summer. Way to go, Garrison! Shoutout to these 3 NDMS band students, Audrey, Molly, and Easton! They just spent 2 days on the ULL campus rehearsing with the Louisiana Bandmasters Association All State Allstar Bands! In just 1.5 days they learned brand new music with Louisiana’s best middle school musicians under Louisiana’s Bandmaster of the Year, Kyle Cook, hung out on the college campus, watched the high school blast bands, drum lines, and jazz bands, had “all you can eat” lunches, and stayed in awesome hotels with pools. What a great way to be honored and enjoy making music over the summer. They also got to meet and get personal autographs from famous composer Carol Brittan Chambers. Our Mighty Griffin Band performed one of her pieces at their festival in March. What a special treat for our Griffins! Way to go, Griffins!
