Mrs. Morrison's Griffins met today in their book clubs for independent reading. They chose books based on their interests and then were grouped with 3-4 others who wanted to read the same book. They read independently throughout the week and then meet on Fridays for book talks!
Shout out to Ms. Groven's Griffins that participated in a Gallery Walk yesterday. They practiced finding the BEST evidence for their constructed response and multiple choice questions.
Using groups of 3-4 and 6 different stations, students analyzed optical illusions and compared what they saw to make connections to our main character, Jonas, in The Giver. Then, they analyzed a question, identified keywords in the question, and went through an excerpt to find the BEST evidence to support their answer to the question. Once students visited their stations, they independently reflected on their evidence choices. They either justified their correct answer or told Ms. Groven what they needed to include to make their evidence better. Way to learn, Griffins! Keep proving we are #winningtogether!
