Griffins made Desoto History by participating in the VERY FIRST Inaugural Desoto Parish Honor Band, hosted by Ms. Craig and Mr. Garcia at North Desoto High School over spring break. Specific students were selected to participate, rehearsing 5 brand new pieces in 6 hours and putting on their honor band performance for the community. They received incredible instruction from award winning Caddo Parish band director Victoria Lacy and learned so much through the process. We are very proud of our Griffins and can’t wait to see who will participate next year!

Lady Griffins trying out for NDMS Griffinettes: twirlers will NOT begin their clinic until Tuesday, April 8, do not stay after school tomorrow. Remember, teacher recommendation forms and money for tryouts are also due Tuesday.

Instrument Tryout Night was full of sounds and wonder as students tried out and decided which band instrument would work best for them. These band students will have a chance to go to a LA Tech football game, NSU for concerts, camps, and more, perform in honor bands in the community, north Louisiana, in New Orleans, New York City, and Disney World! If they stick with it, they will also have the opportunity to get music scholarships to just play in the college band while they get their college degree in ANY subject. It is not too late for students to try out instruments and see which one can start your musical journey in any grade! Reach out to Ms. Craig and she can schedule a time to see which instrument feels best for you!

Shout out to Cooper, Brody, and Tripp supporting World Autism Awareness Day today while participating in Driver's Ed. Way to go, Griffins!
