Dear DeSoto Parish Schools Family,
As we enter a much anticipated and well-deserved break, I want to extend my warmest wishes for a wonderful holiday season. It’s a special time for us to pause, reflect on our collective journey, and share in the joy of our achievements.
Our school system has always been committed to making a difference in the lives of our students, and this year has been a testament to that commitment. Together, we have developed a culture that values community, responsibility, and innovation in education. These principles have guided us in creating an environment where every student can thrive and excel.
Our collective efforts have culminated in record-setting student achievement and district performance scores, celebrated by our recognition as the 3rd ranked school system in Louisiana. This remarkable accomplishment reflects the hard work, dedication, and spirit of our entire school community.

DeSoto Parish Schools would like to thank the Salvation Army Angel Tree project and the community partners who helped make Christmas brighter for 113 students throughout the parish in grades PreK - 5 ages 4-12.

All DeSoto Parish employees will report for a professional work day on Monday, December 18. Teachers and staff will return January 4, 2024. All DeSoto Parish students and staff will start the spring semester on January 8, 2024.

This season, the Logansport High School Tigers football team has shown immense heart and skill. While the path to the state championship may not have ended as hoped, your journey this season has incredibly impacted the Logansport community. Your dedication, sportsmanship, and perseverance are testaments to the true spirit of champions. Remember, success isn't always measured in victories but in the character you've displayed on and off the field. The success of the Logansport Tigers is built on countless hours of hard work and the support of community members who rally behind the players each week. The Tigers end their season as District 3-1A Champions with a notable overall record of 11-2. Our DeSoto Schools community applauds these young men and their coaches on a job well done this season!
