DeSoto Parish Schools is hosting a free ACT Boot Camp on Saturday, September 12 at the DeSoto Parish School Board Office (399 Jenkins St, Mansfield).
Whether you want to sharpen your math skills, master English, or conquer both, this is your chance to boost your score!
Session Schedule:
📐 Math Session: 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM
📖 English Session: 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM
🥪 Free Lunch provided for students attending both sessions!

Friday night’s DeSoto Parish Football Jamboree was about more than football—it was a celebration of the small-town traditions that bring our communities together! 🏈
Under the Friday night lights, we were proud to recognize our DeSoto Parish School Board members for their leadership and service, along with our outstanding 2025–2026 Students, Teachers, New Teachers, and Support Staff of the Year.
These honorees represent the heart of DeSoto Parish Schools and the many ways our students, educators, employees, and community leaders make a difference each day.

As we wrap up the final full week of August—and near the end of our first full month of school—we’re excited to celebrate a district attendance rate of 95.38%, exceeding our district goal of 95%! 🎉
Thank you to our students, families, educators, and staff for making daily attendance a priority. Every day in school creates another opportunity to learn, grow, connect, and succeed.

🚗 Parking Information
Parking lots will be filled in the following order:
Lot 1: Baseball/Softball Parking
Lot 2: High School Gymnasium/Football
Lot 3: Front of the Main Office
Lot 4: Elementary Gym/North Lot
Please do not park on the grass. If additional parking is needed, overflow parking will be permitted only in the designated north grass area.
The DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office will provide supplemental transportation assistance to individuals as needed. Designated accessible parking spaces will be reserved for guests with disabilities.
🔒 Safety Reminder
All guests will be required to pass through the OpenGate Detection System upon entry. Please remain patient and cooperate with event staff and the DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office as we work together to provide a safe and enjoyable experience.

DeSoto Parish Schools has been selected by the Louisiana Department of Education to participate in the 2026–2027 Middle to High School Transition Initiative!
This opportunity will support our continued efforts to ensure students are prepared for a successful transition from middle school to high school—academically, socially, and personally.
Through this initiative, our district will work alongside LDOE and other selected school systems to strengthen transition practices, build student readiness, and create pathways that help every learner enter high school with confidence and a clear path toward future success. #TheDeSotoDifference #GrowingTogether


This opportunity reflects Ms. Smith’s commitment to ensuring every student has access to meaningful learning opportunities and the support needed to succeed. 🎉 Congratulations to Mr. Nicolas Williams, ELA teacher at Mansfield Middle School, for receiving the 2026 National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) Middle Level Educator Award—a prestigious national honor recognizing excellence in middle school English language arts education.
🎉 Congratulations to Ms. Keisha Harris, math teacher at Mansfield Middle School, for being selected to the Teach Plus National Teacher Policy Cabinet as a member of the 2026 Cohort. This distinguished opportunity allows outstanding educators to help shape education policy at the national level.
🎉 We also celebrated Mrs. Hillary Severin, 5th grade math teacher at North DeSoto Upper Elementary, for being named a Louisiana State Teacher of the Year Finalist and earning recognition as one of the Top 3 Elementary Teachers in Louisiana. What an incredible accomplishment!
🍎 Finally, we proudly welcomed our new resident teachers and first-year teachers to the DeSoto Parish Schools family. We are excited to support these outstanding educators as they begin their journey of inspiring and empowering our students.
