❤️ Today we had so much fun celebrating National Heart Month! Our students donated $1 to wear red shirts and jeans to help others and learn about heart health. All of the money raised will be donated to the American Heart Association. We are so proud of our students for showing kindness and helping make a difference! ❤️

For tomorrow's Mardi Gras parade that rolls at 1:15, we are asking all parents of those who are participating/decorating to park in the Elementary Gym parking lot. For those community members wanting to come & enjoy the parade, you may park in the High School Gym lot. There will be NO parking in the new lot in front of the school or on the grass. This area will be used by our PK-5 students for viewing the parade. The parade will begin on the Elementary side, cross in front of the school and make the loop in front of the High School lot and back across. We will only make 1 pass through campus.

Also, just a reminder on ALL deliveries for tomorrow (party snacks, Valentines gifts etc...) must be made between 8am and 10am ONLY and NO BALLOONS of any kind!

We understand that Friday is an exciting day with lots of Valentines parties and our LHS Mardi Gras Parade taking place. However, there are some guidelines we need you to follow regarding both:
1) If you are delivering anything to your child for Valentines, it needs to be done between 8am-10am ONLY. NO BALLOONS allowed.
2) For those decorating the Mardi Gras floats, NO LATEX Balloons are allowed.

There will be another message regarding the route of the parade and where parking will be allowed for the public tomorrow morning.

Following the impacts of Winter Storm Fern on our community, DeSoto Parish Schools experienced the loss of five instructional days across the district. To remain compliant with required instructional time while minimizing disruption, the DeSoto Parish School Board approved a revision to the 2025–2026 academic calendar at its February board meeting. The calendar is attached & may also be found on our LHS website as well as the DPSB website.
