Featured Frequently Asked Question: How much of the bond is dedicated to athletics? Less than 25% of the $130 million bond is dedicated to athletics or extracurricular spaces. While the facility cost is larger than previous projects, this is due to rising construction costs as well as the DeSoto Parish School Board’s commitment to create a long-term solution for our growing community. Educational spaces account for 78% of the plan and would provide modern learning spaces, future-focused labs and career spaces, and dedicated areas for the PreK programs that currently have a waitlist. https://www.desotopsb.com/page/faq-and-resources-north-desoto

Coach Prather's Cyber Society class has studied digital footprints, filter bubbles, online piracy, online disinhibition, and other topics related to potential risks involved in the use of the internet and social media. Students independently selected topics and created comic strips for 5th grade students at the Upper Elementary. Today, they visited those classes, shared what they created, and explained the significance of their topics. #NDHS4L

Just a reminder for tonight's football game: We are only selling tickets at the gate. This is due to a scheduled internet outage. Also, absolutely NO outside food, drink, or containers (Yeti cups, Sonic drinks, etc.) are permitted at the football game tonight.

The cost to the taxpayer depends on the value of your home. For example, a $300,000 home in District No. 2 (North DeSoto) with a homestead exemption of $75,000 would have an adjusted taxable value of $225,000 which would be assessed at 10%. The increase from a millage of 3.6 to 34 would result in an annual increase of $684 per year or $57 per month. Download the new Fact Sheet for more information https://5il.co/2618v

The bond plan is about more than just the high school! Additions were made in 2014 at the upper elementary and middle schools and those spaces are now full. While other schools in the area have seen a push for lower class sizes at the elementary level, North DeSoto Lower and Upper Elementary Schools cannot have class sizes decrease further due to space constraints. The plan takes all grade levels into consideration so that students thrive. https://www.desotopsb.com/page/the-plan-north-desoto
