One of our DeSoto parish treasures, Mrs. Melanie Odom, has taken on a new role this year as an enrichment teacher. Her class is called S.T.R.E.A.M. Which stands for Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art, and Math. Students are practicing being makers with their hands this week while also connecting all of their learning to reading and literacy. All of our Little Griffins attend S.T.R.E.A.M. in the library once a week. Mrs. Odom graduated from Mansfield High School and has served as a teacher in DeSoto Parish for many years. We are proud of her innovation in taking on this endeavor and offering our Little Griffins new enriching experiences. #DeSotoDifferenceMaker

Reminder for the Cub Scout parent meeting. It's in the NDLE Cafeteria at 6:00 pm on Thursday, August 22.

Hi Little Griffin Families! Our NDLE Booster club is sending home order forms for T-Shirts and Football game face tattoos. All profits from these two fundraisers will go towards buying fun items for our students such as playground equipment and hopefully a school owned jump house! Booster Club offers many ways for parents to be involved in supporting our school through volunteering and organizing events. There are volunteer opportunities during school hours and outside of school hours. If you would like to be involved, Booster Club's first meeting is on Monday, Sept. 9 at 6:00 pm in the NDLE Cafeteria. The entrance to the cafeteria is by the bus parking lot.

North DeSoto Families,
Thank you for your flexibility, trust, and encouragement as we've adjusted our drop-off and pick-up procedures for the safety of our students, families, and staff. Your cooperation has greatly contributed to the efficiency of our school day.
Friendly reminders for both morning and afternoon:
If you are coming from the North, you have three U-Turn options: at Lights #3 and #5, and Turn #7 at the ND Water System.
The only entrance is #1, located just north of NDUE.
In the afternoon, please only display your current 24/25 Car Tag.
K and 1st-grade cars should go to the right of the Flag Pole.
PK-only cars should go to the left of the Flag Pole.
As we maintain these procedures, your continued cooperation and trust are greatly appreciated.

Here are our first NDLE Griffin Leaders for this school year. One student is chosen from each class based on showing our Little Griffin SOAR Behavior expectations consistently. These students have Safe Behavior, are On Task, Act Respectful, and make Responsible choices. They have been working hard and showing leadership around our school by greeting students in the morning, helping with morning announcements, passing out birthday prizes, and helping their teacher in their classrooms. We are so proud of you! And we can't wait to see who gets chosen as Griffin Leader for next week! Keep on working to show your Little Griffin SOAR behavior expectations!

NDLE Families: Please be patient as we continue to refine drop-off and pick-up. The following tips will help as we work everything out. Student safety is our number one responsibility. Please follow the procedures in place to ensure efficiency.

NDLE: Great job, Little Griffins! Your ongoing cooperation with the changes has been instrumental in refining our drop-off procedures. To further improve the efficiency of our traffic flow and ensure the safety of both our students and drivers, we have made some important adjustments:
- Three U-Turn Options for vehicles coming from the North: #3, #5, and #7 (see map)
- Three Exit Options after NDLE drop-off: #3, #4, and #5 (see map)
- We will begin letting students out of cars at 7:10
- Please continue to enter the North side of the bus loop.
These adjustments are part of our ongoing efforts to create a more efficient and safe environment for North DeSoto students. Thank you once again for your continued support and cooperation. Together, we can ensure a safe and positive start and end to each school day. #bettertogether

In music class, PreK students practiced letter A from our Little Griffin SOAR Behavior Expectations. "A" stands for "Act Respectful". Students were acting respectful by sharing and taking turns with some classroom instruments.

Little Griffin Families, After studying and reflecting on the morning drop-off line and traffic on HWY 171 and ND Parking Lots, the decision has been made to move to the same route used in the afternoons. Therefore, all morning drop-offs, for NDLE, will enter the Bus Loop, north of NDUE, and follow in one line, through the parking lot and behind the flagpole. Drop-Offs will start at 7:15 am. Additional Car line reminders: Make sure your car tag is for the 24-25 school year. Cell phone use is prohibited in car line. Thank you all for your flexibility as this change is for the safety of all our Griffin Families. Thank you, NDLE

NDLE Parents,
This is a reminder that everyone will be dropped off in car line or by bus on Monday, August 19. There are NO PARENT WALK UPS for the remainder of the year.
