🚗🚙Car Drop Off Pro Tips🚗🚙
We appreciate all of our families who work hard each morning to get their Little Griffins to school safely and on time. As the first campus to open among the four ND schools (7:05 am), we understand that many parents are managing multiple drop-offs and tight schedules.
We do want to share an observation that may help your mornings run more smoothly. Between 7:10–7:25, our carline is consistently very light, with little to no wait time. During this window, our staff is fully outside, ready to greet students and assist with unloading. Arriving during this time greatly reduces delays and ensures your child starts their day calm, on time, and confident.
Lately, we’ve noticed a large number of cars arriving closer to 7:30, which is just minutes before the first bell rings. When this happens, the carline becomes congested, and students may end up entering the building late. To help everyone have a positive and efficient start to the day, please plan to enter the carline between 7:05-7:20 whenever possible.
For your child's safety, do not drop them off once duty teachers go inside. After that time, please park and walk your child in through the cafeteria to check them in. Students are considered tardy after 7:40 a.m. We want to be sure that every student is safe and supervised.
Thank you for your cooperation, your kindness toward our staff, and your partnership in helping every student begin the day successfully. We appreciate you!
**The pictures included were taken at 7:11 am today.

⭐️ 📖 When students are nominated for leadership coins from a staff member, our Security Resource Officer Deputy Randolph delivers the news! 🗞️ He tells the class why the students were nominated and delivers their coin to be used in the book machine. Thank you, Mrs. Register, for sharing these pictures! ♥️💙

❄️☃️ Brrr… Baby, It’s Cold Outside! ☃️❄️
Our first graders are staying warm and cozy during indoor recess, and they’re making the most of every minute! From building with blocks to drawing snowy scenes and playing games with friends, the fun is just as bright as winter lights. ✨💙
Even when the weather outside is frosty, our Little Griffins keep shining! ❄️🦅

🌟📚 First Grade AR Super Readers! 📚🌟
Our 1st graders are working hard to grow their Accelerated Reader points this month, and we are so proud of their progress! 🎉
Encourage your child to read at home, take an AR quiz at school, and watch those points climb, climb, climb! 🚀 Every book builds confidence, fluency, and a love for reading.
Let’s cheer on our Little Griffins as they reach for their next AR goal! 💙📖

📚✨ North DeSoto Lower Elementary Kindergarten Readers! ✨📚
Our November Reading Logs are ready, and we can’t wait to see all the stories your little ones explore this month! 🍁🦃
Reading just 10–15 minutes a night helps build strong readers with big imaginations. Let’s fill those logs with cozy fall stories, silly characters, and lots of learning. 💛
Don’t forget to return completed logs at the end of the month for a fun surprise! 🎉
Happy Reading, Little Griffins! 📖🦅

🌟 Portrait of a Graduate Spotlight! 🌟
Today, we are excited to celebrate our Portrait of a Graduate winner for this month! A Portrait of a Graduate student demonstrates the important qualities we want all our learners to develop.
This month, we’re highlighting one special quality: being an empathetic listener, which connects to Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood. This means listening carefully—not just to respond, but to truly understand others.
👏 Now, help us celebrate a student who models this every single day…
🎉 Congratulations to Rufus from Ms. Burford’s class! 🎉
Rufus is a wonderful friend and an outstanding listener. He listens with purpose—not only to follow directions but to understand his teacher and classmates. He does the right thing without needing reminders, loves learning new things, and shows kindness and care to everyone around him.
Rufus, thank you for showing us what Habit 5 looks like in real life. We are so proud of you! 💙

🌟 Congratulations to Our Leaders of the Month! 🌟
We are so proud to recognize this month’s students who consistently show what it means to be a Leader in Me school! These outstanding Little Griffins have demonstrated the Habits in action — from Being Proactive and Putting First Things First to Thinking Win-Win and Synergizing with their classmates.
They also shine by meeting our school-wide behavior expectations each day, showing kindness, responsibility, and respect in all they do. 💙✨

💜Our Little Griffins love to support a good cause. So many students showed up in their purple to support Lydia and donated their $1 in the office. 💜
