The communities served by North DeSoto schools have seen tremendous growth in recent years. The current North DeSoto Lower Elementary facility originally served grades K-6 and now houses preK-1. North DeSoto Upper Elementary has grown from four classes per grade level to ten. We are proud to serve every student in our schools, but we are simply running out of space. Hallways are crowded, we struggle to accommodate activities, and class sizes are higher than the rest of the parish due to space constraints. The bond proposal proposes a new high school facility, giving the capacity to reconfigure current spaces to meet the needs of the growing community.

Voters in District 2 (North DeSoto) have the chance to vote on a bond measure for capital improvements.
Early Voting is open now and ends on November 11.
Election Day is Saturday, November 18, 2023.

The Kona Ice truck will be parked outside the NDLE cafeteria on Friday, November 10. Students can purchase snow cones for $3 after lunch. Please send 3$ with your child in an envelope or ziplock bag labelled with their name, teachers name, and Kona Ice.

NDLE's PTA is meeting Monday, November 6 at 6:00 pm in the cafeteria. All parents are invited to come learn about volunteer opportunities and other ways parents can support our Little Griffin Community. Entrance is by the bus parking lot.

NDLE car drop off is from 7:10-7:40. Parents must walk students to the front door after 7:40. Breakfast ends at 7:40. Class begins at 7:40. Parents must sign students in at the office after the tardy bell at 7:45. PreK 3 drop off begins after PK4, K, and 1st grade drop off ends.

Featured Frequently Asked Question: When would a new school be completed and the new configuration of facilities take place?
If approved by voters in November of 2023, the project would be ready for construction in late summer of 2024 with plans to open to students in 2026. This two-year construction period would help to facilitate a smooth transition for our students at grade levels currently experiencing overcrowding as they transition into middle and high school.
NDLE's PTA will sell concessions on Friday, November 3 from 10-12. Please send students' money in a labelled envelope or plastic bag with their name and teacher's name.
