Friday Ms. Groven’s classes tackled the MILE Strategy for multiple-choice questions:
M – Make good choices
I – Identify key words
L – Look back at the text
E¹ – Eliminate distractors
E² – Explain why your answer is right
Students used MILE to double-check their answers on their Lesson 11 quiz… and WOW! 🤩 Their class mastery jumped from 50% → 90% once they applied the strategy!
So proud of these Griffins for showing what happens when you slow down, think critically, and trust the process. 💪📚

6th grade boys finished 1st! Today’s top 6th grade boy finishers were: Zack 1st, Briggs 2nd, Luke 4th, and Roman 10th. Lily finished top ten for 7th/8th grade girls at 7th. Both the 6th grade girls and 7th/8th grade girls’ teams placed 3rd!

Our Middle Griffin students and staff observed the "You Matter Campaign" Thursday by wearing yellow or teal shirts and by writing encouraging notes to others. Ms. Jackson shared that the "You Matter Campaign" is a heartfelt initiative aimed at promoting the well-being and mental health of both students and staff. This campaign focuses on reminding everyone in the school community that they are valued, seen, and heard, especially during difficult times. With an urgent focus on suicide prevention, the campaign provides vital resources and support to those struggling with thoughts of self-harm or despair. By fostering a culture of compassion, open dialogue, and connection, the "You Matter" message encourages individuals to reach out for help and to be there for each other. It reminds us all that no matter what challenges we face, we are not alone, and we truly matter to the world around us. #winningtogether #OneBigGriffinFamily
