Shout out to our NDMS Mighty Griffin Jazz Band that performed at Saturday's 21st Annual Highland Jazz & Blues Festival in Shreveport's Columbia Park. They are the very first middle school jazz band to ever perform at the Highland Jazz & Blues Festival and the first band to ever play on their brand new, third stage called the Inspiration Stage! Our very own Ms. Craig also performed with the headline act, Kenny Neal. Way to go, Griffins!!

Ms. Groven's students are learning how to strengthen their written responses using the CER method (Claim, Evidence, Reasoning)— but with a sweet twist! Students built “Oreo responses” to connect their reading of The Giver to text-based questions, stacking their responses just like the layers of an Oreo. This fun, hands-on activity helped them see how each part of their writing holds the response together! 🍪 #TastyWayToWrite #GriffinsAreAwesome
