Community growth is driving the bond proposal in North DeSoto. A new high school will not only help the district meet expected growth, but will also provide a dedicated performing arts and career and technical education wings, a new turf practice field and an indoor multipurpose facility that will accommodate band, cheer, dance line and JROTC. In addition there will be a new training facility for wrestling and a new baseball/softball complex.

Congratulations to NDMS’s own Zaylon who was selected as one of the 28 best baseball players in the country to participate in the Perfect Game 11 year Select Fest held in Georgia last week. Two teams of 14, East and West. Zaylon and East teammates won 15-13. Way to go!

The DeSoto Parish School Board unanimously approvedCapital Improvements bond proposals at their August 3 meeting. In District 2, North DeSoto Schools, the $130 million bond proposal proposes construction of a new North DeSoto High School as well as improvements to other facilities to accommodate growth.

Volleyball tryouts are next week August 14th-16th after school until 5:30, with the first tournament on August 19th. A google form is available if students would like to sign up (check cohort classrooms). Students will need to have a Medical Release form filled out by a guardian prior to trying out and will need to obtain a physical if making the team. Medical Release forms can be printed out and turned in or students can stop by room 302 and receive a copy.

Hello, my name is Kourteni Henderson, and I am elated to join the NDMS team. I’ve been in education since 2014 as a teacher, Master Teacher, and school counselor. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor as well as a Nationally Certified Counselor.
I have an 11 year old son (Ethan), and an 8 year old Cockapoo (Riley). I am very passionate about serving students, and I look forward to doing so at NDMS!
