Congratulations to Rhett Burford, our NDUE 2021 5th Grade Student of the Year! We are so PROUD of him and all the Student of the Year nominees! Continue to #LEADlikeaGriffin!

Today we would like to honor this group of leaders at NDUE! These students have all been nominated for the Student of the Year. That means they have met the academic requirements to be nominated, created their leadership portfolios, and have been through the interview process. We wish we could name them all the winner, but unfortunately there can only be one Student of the Year. So today, before we announce the winner tomorrow, we want to say how proud we are of this group of young achievers! They have worked so hard! Please give show them some love in the comments below! #LEADlikeaGriffin

We are excited to welcome you to our campus on Thursday, November 18th for Thanksgiving Lunch in our cafeteria. All guest meals are $6. Exact change would be appreciated. 2nd/3rd grade lunch is from 11:00-11:40. 4th/5th grade lunch is from 11:45-12:30. Please be sure that your child’s guest(s) know the name of your student's homeroom teacher. When guests arrive, they will be directed to your student’s homeroom class for a brief classroom visit. You will pick up your student and then head to our cafeteria for lunch. At the end of your student’s lunch shift, you will walk them back to class and then return to the main lobby to exit our campus.

It’s always great to see young people choose to do the right thing, and today Jaydon Holmes did just that! He found a fuel man card that was dropped by one of our transportation workers and turned it in to the office. Mr. Hall, our District Supervisor of Transportation, commended him today with a Good Samaritan Award! Way to be a leader Jaydon! #LEADlikeaGriffin

October 27, 2021 The statewide mask mandate has been lifted by Governor Edwards, and we will follow our original operational guidelines which allow mask coverings optional for students and staff. Although masks are optional on school campuses, masks must still be worn on school buses due to the federal transportation mandate. Our district will follow quarantine protocols set forth by the Louisiana Department of Health. If a person is considered in close contact, they must be quarantined to limit the spread of COVID unless fully vaccinated and asymptomatic. We are encouraged by the decline of positive cases in our district. As always, we will continue to monitor the trends of positive cases in our schools and communities and will make adjustments to our mitigation measures if the need should arise.
