In observance of the Juneteenth holiday, DeSoto Parish administrative and school offices will be closed today. We will resume normal summer hours on Monday, June 23rd.
These Griffins were spotted getting their groove on with Lady Chops at the Stonewall Branch of the Desoto Parish Library this morning! They learned all about Latino music and the unique percussion instruments that make it so fun! NDUE's Averie Self attends Church Awana Sparks on a weekly basis. At the beginning of the year each student is issued a weekly study guide to complete by the end of the school year. Averie was the first in her class to complete the study guide half way through the year and was issued an extra credit workbook. She was the only child to complete both projects before the end of the year!
For this accomplishment, she received the Hang Glider, Wing Runner, and Sky Stormer Awards as well as all the patches, pins, and jewels associated with these titles.

Congratulation to Mikayla and Erin Ashworth for their accomplishments in Girl Scout Cookie Sales this year!
Mikayla sold 1,350 boxes of cookies and Erin sold 1,001.
Selling over 1,000 packages allows girls to earn an exclusive Cookie CEO party with Girl Scout staff and meet the CEO of our council, Louisiana Pines to the Gulf. They each received a trophy and made a Build-a-Bear while dancing and celebrating with other Girl Scouts who also sold 1,000 or more boxes of cookies.
Mikayla was recognized for being a 3-time Cookie CEO. This was Erin’s first year reaching Cookie CEO status. They were also celebrated as being Sister CEOs! Way to go girls! #LEADlikeaGriffin

Our amazing fifth graders got a sneak peek into middle school life during sixth-grade orientation today, and they had a great time! From touring the halls and learning about extra-curriculars, to getting excited about simple freedoms like choosing where you want to sit in the cafeteria for lunch the day was filled with excitement, curiosity, and lots of smiles. 😄
It’s clear these students are more than ready to take on the next big adventure. We’re so proud of their enthusiasm and can’t wait to see them shine in sixth grade!
