Stanley High School kicked off its Spring Book Fair week with a STEAM Literacy Night on March 24.

Students in grades K-5 participated in inquiry-based activities related to the book Tacky the Penguin. The STEAM framework for learning fosters creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving through hands-on activities that integrate science, technology, engineering, art, and math.

At each station, students explored the question, “How does being different help us?” by learning what made Tacky the Penguin unique. Thank you to all of the students who participated, and our wonderful K-5 teachers who led the fun activities!

This week, our PreK–5th grade students celebrated Read Across America Week with a week full of fun dress-up days and activities inspired by Dr. Seuss! 📚🎉

Students showed their school spirit all week long with themed days including Mixed Up Monday, Top Hat Tuesday, Wacky Socks Wednesday, Theodore Day (dress like your favorite Dr. Seuss character) on Thursday, and Funny Food Friday where students wore green!

Mrs. Ward's class celebrated their last Dr Suess day with cooking green eggs and ham! They discussed everything from how a baby chick grows, tools used to cook, made predictions, gave lots of adjectives to describe the Dr Seuss eggs, and had a lot of fun tasting them!

From silly socks to creative costumes, our hallways were full of imagination, laughter, and a love for reading. We had a wonderful time celebrating books and encouraging our students to keep turning those pages! 📖✨
