🏈⚽️The Little Griffin Community was busy this weekend! We had some Little Griffin Cheerleaders cheer during halftime at Friday night's football game. If you got to the football game early, you saw Mrs. Brawley attempt a field goal. There were also some Little Griffins spotted at the soccer fields on Saturday. Parents, you can share your sports, cheering, and other activities by emailing pictures to
tara.brawley@desotopsb.com. The students love seeing themselves on the big screens in the cafeteria while they are eating lunch. ⚽️🏈

❤️💙NDLE's first Fabulous Friday assembly of the year was full of good news.
🎓One of our first grade students, Lawson, was chosen to be the Portrait of a Graduate for being goal oriented
📣Shout out to Sawdust Silhouettes for donating all of our Little Griffin Portrait of a Graduate shirts!
⭐️Mrs. Peggy Turner, one of our beloved kindergarten teachers, was announced as Teacher of the Year.
🍎Mrs. Devin Gaddy, a paraprofessional in PreK, was announced as Support Staff of the Year.
⭐️Ms. Presley Elliott, a kindergarten teacher, was announced as New Teacher of the year.
🍎Superintendent Clay Corley and Director of Administration Anesha Ross came to announce that Mr. Tabor is our DeSoto Parish Principal of the year!

🎨✨ Creating a “Magnificent Thing”with Mrs. Odom✨🎨
Our young artists explored the power of lines, mixed-media materials, and creativity to create something truly magnificent!
Students experimented with different types of lines—straight, curved, zigzag, wavy, and more—then combined a variety of materials and textures to bring their ideas to life. 🖍️✂️📰🎨
The best part? There was no single right answer! Students used their imaginations, made creative choices, and discovered that sometimes the most magnificent creations come from trying something new, making a mistake, and turning it into something unexpected. 💡❤️

Tomorrow is picture day AND Camo dress up day for the football game. Students need to wear what you would like them to have on in the yearbook. They can wear clothing of your choice. They do not have to wear a school uniform.

North DeSoto LOWER Elementary's Fall Picture day is Friday, September 18. Students may wear school appropriate clothing of their choice. This will be the picture that is used for the Yearbook. Students will come home with a QR code to order pictures from Cowen Photography.

DeSoto Parish Schools aims to highlight the critical role of daily school attendance in fostering student success, both academically and in life. This contest will engage students in creatively expressing the importance of regular attendance through video speeches.
The contest window will run from September 14, 2026, to November 6, 2026.
Eligibility
● All students enrolled in DeSoto Parish Schools (K-12) are eligible to participate.
● Students must submit videos individually.
Video requirements
Video length: No more than 1.5 minutes; MP4 format required.
Content: Videos should address the theme "Attendance Matters: Every Day Counts" in a creative and original way.
Submission: Submit videos digitally from a school-issued Google email account (Google Drive-socialmedia@desotopsb.com). Please ensure the videos are not set to "Private." Setting the videos to "Unlisted" on YouTube is acceptable.
Participating students should use the following Google Form to enter the content ( There is a section for parental contact and consent). Students may also upload videos in MP4 format to this form for submission.
