Featured Frequently Asked Question: What would happen if the bond is not approved?
If the bond is not approved, current North DeSoto facilities will be challenged to meet the growing needs of the community, possibly resulting in increased overcrowding. More than 130 new addresses have been approved and in addition to 12 subdivisions with up to 500 lots currently in the planning or development phase. Due to rising costs and projected inflation, the $130 million project would cost $140 million if started in 2026.

The Bond plan would directly impact North DeSoto Lower Elementary School! The plan includes additional spaces to house our PreK programs and would create more space to allow class sizes to be reduced to the parish standard of 18:1 student to teacher ratio. While other schools in the area have seen a push for lower class sizes at the elementary level, we cannot have comparable class size decreases because of space constraints.
