Tomorrow is the last day for Penny Wars at NDLE! Bring your spare change to help your class win a pizza party.

Reminder: NDLE students can wear St. Patrick's Day or green shirts with uniform bottoms tomorrow Friday, March 15. Or they can dress as their favorite cartoon character in celebration of PTO's Penny Wars.

NDLE's Field Day is coming on Friday, March 22nd! All students will wear athletic shorts, tennis shoes and their class shirt on this day. Pk-4, Kindergarten, and 1st grades' games will be at NDHS Griffin Stadium from 10-11:30. Parents can come watch from the track or bleachers. Please let your teacher know if you plan to check them out afterwards so they will have their backpack. Mrs. Carpenter and Mrs. Procell's classes will have Field Day at 9:00 on the NDLE front playground. Mrs. Hasty will contact parents with details about PK-3 Field Day. We look forward to seeing all of our Little Griffins' families!

Schools in the North DeSoto area continue to face the challenge of accommodating the community’s rapidly growing population. North DeSoto Lower Elementary is facing challenges, including the inability to have the same 18:1 student-to-teacher ratio that is seen in other parts of the parish. While we are proud to have lower class sizes than elsewhere in the state, creating a standard for the Parish creates a strong sense of community and support for all of our students. The building originally housed students in kindergarten through sixth grade and now serves PreK through first grade. NDLE will have Spring pictures by Cowen Studios on Tuesday, March 19. A sheet with a QR code will be sent home to order pictures. Students may wear clothing of their choice for pictures.

Voters in District 2 (North DeSoto Schools) rejected a bond proposal for capital improvements in November 2023. Because of the urgency of overcrowding and growing enrollment, the DeSoto Parish School Board has approved an April 27, 2024 election with a revised plan for voters to consider.
