Will staff and students be required to wear masks?

All staff and students (3rd grade and above) will be required to wear face coverings in all areas of the school when recommended social distancing can not be achieved. Areas of particular use for face coverings will include: during arrival, dismissal and any other transition within the school building.

What are requirements for face masks?

Face coverings on campus should not promote any social, religious, business, or political movements and/or companies. Face coverings should not include profanity, obscenity, or the promotion of any illegal activity and/or violence. Likewise, any article of clothing with a picture or graphic may not be obscene or promote any illegal activity or violence.  

Please check with your school principal on colors.

What type of symptom monitoring will be done?

All students and staff will be assessed on arrival and throughout the day, including an initial temperature check.

How will social distancing take place?

We will be prepared to reconfigure spaces and classrooms to maintain social distancing practices to the maximum extent possible. We are working to create plans for social distancing on during arrival and dismissal times.

What measure will be taken for cleaning and sanitizing?

We will have additional cleaning procedures and supplies in place that will include additional hand-sanitation stations on all buses and throughout our buildings.

How are decisions made concerning in-person and remote learning?

Decisions about possible shifts between in-person and remote learning are based on guidance from the Office of Public Health and the Louisiana Department of Education. We will continue to release updated information regarding the start of school over the next several weeks. 

If a child is enrolled in the 100% virtual learning option, can he/she participate in extracurricular activities, including sports?

 Yes.  Students that choose the 100% virtual learning option will be able to participate in extracurricular activities including sports.

Will my PreK student be able to enroll in the 100% virtual learning options?

The 100% virtual learning option begins at Kindergarten.

Can students use their own device instead of picking up a district issued Chromebook?

Students may use their preferred device at home but we do encourage all students to pickup a district issued Chromebook to ensure compatibility and connectivity while accessing our network on campus.    

Where can I find the list for school supplies?

The district will purchase all school supplies this year. Students will only need to purchase their uniforms and bookbags.
