On Thursday, Oct 5, the DeSoto Parish School Board unanimously approved doubling the one-time State supplement for all DeSoto Parish employees.  Certified staff will receive a total of $4,000 instead of $2,000, and non-certified staff will receive $2,000 as opposed to the original $1,000.

Board member and chairman of the Finance Committee, Donnie Dufour, attests to the dedication and commitment of all employees in the DeSoto Parish School System: 

“Each contributing member of our school system plays a vital role in the success and educational experience of all our students. We wanted to show our appreciation for their hard work and dedication through the approval of this stipend.” 

Board President, Coday Johnston, offered his appreciation for the employees of DeSoto Parish Schools:

“Our decision to double the amount provided by the State is a demonstration of our appreciation for the commitment our teachers, administrators and support staff make to provide our students   with a quality education.”

Employees will receive their one-time stipend on Tuesday, October 10.
