MANSFIELD, LA – DeSoto Parish Schools is proud to announce Mr. Brian Anderson, Principal of Stanley High School, as the 2025–2026 DeSoto Parish Principal of the Year. With more than three decades of service in education, Mr. Anderson has made a lasting impact as both an instructional leader and mentor within the district.
Anderson began his career in 1994 as a teacher and coach at Hickory Flat High School and Aberdeen High School in Mississippi before joining Stanley High School in 1999. Over the years, he has served in a variety of roles, including teacher, coach, athletic director, and assistant principal. He was named Principal of Logansport High School in 2016, before returning to Stanley High School in 2017, where he continues to lead today.
During his tenure, Mr. Anderson has taught Elementary PE, Health, and Physical Education I, while also serving as a coach and athletic director. His coaching record is distinguished, highlighted by leading Stanley’s baseball program to 13 regional finals, five quarterfinal appearances, three semifinal appearances, and a State Championship in 2002.
“Mr. Anderson exemplifies what it means to be a servant leader in DeSoto Parish,” said Superintendent Clay Corley. “His leadership at Stanley High School has created a culture of high expectations, strong relationships, and academic growth for students. We are proud to honor him as Principal of the Year.”
As principal, Mr. Anderson has strengthened instructional leadership through close collaboration with Stanley High School’s talented and hardworking teachers. Together, they have driven measurable academic growth, leading the district in school-wide proficiency gains during the 2024–2025 school year—including a +4-point increase in Mastery Plus performance, as well as 6-point gains in both English Language Arts and Math on LEAP Assessments.

Reflecting on his recognition, Anderson credited the students, staff, and community he serves daily. “This award is a reflection of the hard work and commitment of the entire Stanley High School family. I am blessed to work alongside such dedicated educators and to lead such remarkable students,” said Anderson.
As a result of his selection, Mr. Anderson will represent DeSoto Parish Schools in the Louisiana Department of Education's state-level Principal of the Year competition.
