Today, the Louisiana Department of Education publicly released the 2024-2025 School and District Performance Scores. DeSoto Parish Schools has been consistent as an “A” rated district for the past several years and is one of only twelve school systems with an overall rating of “A.”
DeSoto received a District Performance Score of 95.6, holding steady as one of the top performing districts in the state of Louisiana. The District Performance Score is calculated by combining performance in LEAP 2025 state assessments for grades 3-8 and high school courses, ACT scores, graduation rates, strength of diploma, and interests and opportunities. DeSoto Parish Schools ranks fourth in Progress Index with a letter grade of “A” and Progress Index of 95.9. DeSoto ranks fifth in the state in graduation rate at 97.1%.
Additionally, DeSoto Parish Schools grew in two significant areas, Strength of Diploma and ACT. DeSoto Parish Schools now ranks 7th for ACT performance, compared to 14th in the state during the 2023-2024 school year. For the second straight year, DeSoto ranks second in the state for strength of diploma, meaning that students are graduating from our schools with the credentials, skills, and confidence needed to ensure a successful future.
“These results say a lot about the people in our parish. Our teachers work hard, our students give their best, and our families are supportive of the work we are doing,” said DeSoto Parish School Board President, Donnie Dufour. “Being an A district year after year takes everyone doing their part, pulling in the same direction, and I’m proud to be a part of it.”

We are seeing what is possible when leaders and teachers work together with student needs at the center of this very important mission.”
“What continues to make our district special is how our community, our board, and our employees work together on behalf of kids. There’s a shared commitment to doing things the right way and supporting our students with what they need to succeed,” said Superintendent Clay Corley. “I’m thankful for everyone who plays a part in this mission. It truly takes everyone to make a difference.”
The 2024-2025 school year will mark the last year under Louisiana’s current accountability system. In the 2025-2026 school year, Louisiana will launch a newly adopted school accountability system, Grow. Achieve. Thrive.
The Louisiana Department of Education’s revised accountability system raises expectations for students, simplifies how school performance is measured, and offers families and communities a clearer understanding of how well schools are preparing students for success beyond graduation.
