North DeSoto

North DeSoto High School has been recognized by CollegeBoard for outstanding student achievement and expanded access to rigorous coursework, earning a Bronze distinction on the 2025 Advanced Placement® (AP®) School Honor Roll.

The AP School Honor Roll celebrates schools whose AP programs are delivering strong results for students while broadening participation. Recognition is based on annual criteria that reflect a school’s commitment to building a college-going culture, increasing access to college-level coursework, and supporting college readiness.

“This distinction reflects the unwavering commitment of our teachers, students, parents, and community partners to expanding access to rigorous coursework and meaningful learning opportunities,” said Willa Smith, Supervisor of Student Learning for DeSoto Parish Schools. “Through college-level academics and career-focused pathways, we are preparing students district wide with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to succeed beyond high school.”

North DeSoto High School met all three College Board benchmarks for the 2025 Honor Roll:

  • College Culture: At least 40% of the graduating class took one or more AP exams during high school.

  • College Credit: 26% of graduates earned a score of 3 or higher on an AP exam.

  • College Optimization:  7% of graduates completed five or more AP exams, with at least one taken in 9th or 10th grade, ensuring students are able to spread rigorous coursework across multiple years.
