📣 DeSoto Parish Schools Celebrates First Heith Parker Memorial Scholarship Recipient 🎓
We are proud to congratulate Mansfield High School senior, Miss. Destini Williams, who has been named the inaugural recipient of the Heith Parker Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship honors the legacy of Mr. Heith Parker, our beloved Director of Facilities and Operations, whose dedication to our schools and students left a profound impact on our community.
The scholarship award is in the amount of $1000.00 and will be awarded for 10 years. The Heith Parker Memorial Scholarship was established to support students in DeSoto Parish high schools, empowering them to pursue higher education and make a lasting impact—just as Mr. Parker did. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to this scholarship, ensuring that Mr. Parker’s legacy continues to inspire future generations.

The DeSoto Parish School Board is seeking a dedicated and collaborative educational leader to join our team as Assistant Principal of Logansport High School. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting student achievement, fostering a positive school culture, and working alongside staff to maintain high standards of excellence.
Qualifications:
✅ Master’s degree with an Educational Leadership endorsement
✅ Certification as a principal in the State of Louisiana or working towards certification
✅ Possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with individuals and groups.
✅ Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
✅ Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
✅ Possesses the knowledge to gather data, compile information and prepare reports.

It was great to visit with new teachers to DeSoto for a feedback session today. They each have worked so hard at their schools; they have learned so much in Year 1 and contributed to the growth of their students.
