After 34 incredible years of service in education, we celebrate the retirement of Mrs. Sherri Laffitte, Supervisor of Technology for DeSoto Parish Schools.

Mrs. Laffitte has been a quiet force behind the scenes, ensuring that the backbone of our school operations—technology—ran seamlessly each and every day. From managing districtwide systems to troubleshooting issues no one ever saw, her tireless work helped power classrooms, connect campuses, and support student success in ways that often went unnoticed but were absolutely essential.

As she closes this chapter, we extend our deepest gratitude for her dedication to the students of our schools. Happy retirement, Mrs. Laffitte—you’ve more than earned it!

📣 Tax Millage Rates Lowered in DeSoto Communities! 📣 At its June meeting, the DeSoto Parish School Board approved reductions to the debt service millages in the following districts ✅ Logansport (District 1): 13.15 ➡️ 10.00 mills ✅ Stanley (District 3): 15.00 ➡️ 5.00 mills ✅ Mansfield (District 4): 4.00 ➡️ 3.00 mills These reductions reflect our continued commitment to fiscal responsibility and transparency in managing voter-approved bond debt. Debt service millages are only allowed to pay expenses related to the bonds that were issued in these districts. They cannot be used to fund operational or any other expenses. 📌 Less tax burden. Same commitment to excellence.#TheDeSotoDifference #CommunityInvestment #BetterTogether #LowerMillages
