PSA ON POTENTIAL THREAT MADE TO DESOTO PARISH SCHOOLS
DeSoto Parish Schools and The DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office have been made aware of a social media post that was shared within the past 24 hours. At this time, it is believed that a live video was shared where an individual insinuated a threat targeting various schools in Caddo and DeSoto Parishes. We simply want the public to know that this matter is under an active investigation, and that no real threat has been identified at this moment that should cause the public any alarm. Given the nature of the matter, and as is standard procedure, DeSoto Parish Law Enforcement has increased man-power at and around all of our DeSoto Schools until any/all information that can be obtained is properly investigated. We are actively working alongside the DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office to communicate any new information as it becomes available.
It is important to note that while threats such as this happen all-to-often all around our nation, and especially right after tragic news in other areas, we will always take every threat with the utmost seriousness. If at any moment our office believes there to be a legitimate danger to students or staff, we will inform all residents instantly through the DeSoto Parish Mobile app and social media platforms in conjunction with The DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s communication channels . As of this moment, no threat or cause for alarm has been identified.

High-five to our students working hard where #AttendanceMatters! A special shoutout to Mansfield Middle School and Mansfield High School for meeting /exceeding their goals this week!
Did you know that A student who is chronically absent in high school is 7.4X more likely to dropout of school? Let’s help students build a habit of good attendance early & often! #EveryDayCounts #BePresentBePowerful
