This new law opens doors for some TRSL retirees to return to the classroom without affecting their retirement benefits, after a 12-month waiting period.

Week 2 of our Zearn Summer Challenge ended yesterday. One hundred fourteen students qualified for Week 2! That is 18 more students than last week! Way to engage and brush up on those math skills this week students! Students completing 3+ lesson qualified themselves for the weekly random drawing. Tonight, we formally recognized the LHS men's 4x200 meter relay team and the MHS women's 4x100 meter relay team as state champions! Their high performance accomplishment shows they are #DeSotoStrong!



Today, June 6, 2024, marks the 80th anniversary of D-Day, a pivotal moment in history that shaped the course of World War II and the future of our world. We honor the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of the Allied forces who stormed the beaches of Normandy on this day in 1944.


Londyn, from Mansfield Elementary, was all smiles when she picked up her Zearn Summer Challenge prize today after her name was randomly chosen after completing 3+ lessons last week.

Camp Invention: Let's Glow!
Our young Lumineers continue their learning safari by enhancing their electrical engineering skills by exploring circuits and wiring a circuit board for their Glow Box project. They'll light up their box with brilliant white light and then switch to UV settings to reveal a hidden jellyfish image. The session wraps up with a discussion on bioluminescence, exploring how nature lights up the night.


Get ready for an adventure! The DeSoto Summer Learning Safari is in full swing at Mansfield Middle School, and our students are exploring new horizons every day. From exploring the world through literacy to creative arts projects, the fun never stops! #TheDeSotoDifference
