Update: As all DeSoto Parish Schools and district offices reopen tomorrow please keep in mind that we are still experiencing icy conditions in some areas! With this in mind buses will exercise extreme caution and will not travel roads that are questionable!

If you are still experiencing icy conditions in your area, please exercise caution and contact your child's school if you have any issues with the morning commute. As main highways begin to clear, our numerous side streets and rural roads remain a major concern, as does the threat of black ice during the morning hours. Please take the necessary precautions if you must travel over the next 24 hours.

Due to hazardous winter weather and travel conditions, DeSoto Parish Schools and all district offices will close on Tuesday, January 16. The safety and well-being of our students and staff are of the utmost importance to us.
We will continue to work with our Emergency Management partners to monitor the latest weather and road conditions that would impact travel, and provide an update by Tuesday afternoon, if there is a need for school closures on Wednesday, January 17.
